Day 1: Antananarivo

Arrive at Antananarivo airport and transfer to your hotel in the beautiful capital of Madagascar. Enjoy a short tour of the city en route to your hotel, then spend the rest of the day exploring. (Meals: in flight)

Day 2: Antananarivo - Ambatolampy - Antsirabe

Head south towards the leafy city of Ambatolampy and the historic red clay houses. Visit the Malagasy Pot Factory before arriving in Antsirabe, know as the City of Water thanks to its waters which are rich in healing mineral salts. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Antsirabe - Morondava

Today, you’ll see one of Madagascar’s most iconic sights, the Avenue of Baobabs, which provide an other-worldly road to Morondava. Highlands turn to dry terrain and majestic baobab trees tower from the ground, creating magical silhouettes at sunset. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Morondava

After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure. Visit the local market or kick back on the idyllic beach. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Morondava - Antsirabe

Leave Morondava behind and transfer back to Antsirabe, where you can explore the city and sample some of the country’s delicious food. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Antsirabe - Fianarantsoa

Today, journey to the old town of Fianarantsoa, the capital of the Betsileo Tribe. Enjoy a tour of some of the religious buildings, then spend the rest of the day at leisure. With many vineyards in this area, why not head for a wine tasting. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Fianarantsoa - Ranohira

Drive south this morning towards Irohombe, the land of the Baras, one of the oldest ethnic groups in the country. Stop on Ranohira, and enjoy watching the sunset from the Window of Isalo. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Ranohira

Today, discover the sandstone formations of Isalo National Park - a rugged mountainous landscape with caves, crystal clear gorges and water-filled canyons. Take a short hike, then cool off in a natural pool before heading to Ranohira for the night. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Ranohira - Ifaty

Head towards the sea today, to the coastal town of Ifaty, bordered by lush forests full of wildlife. Enjoy a stroll before settling into this charming town for the night. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Ifaty

Spend your day at leisure on one of the pristine beaches, snorkelling in the crystal clear ocean or sampling the local cuisine. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 11: Ifaty - Ambalavao

Leave Ifaty this morning, making for Ambalavao. Stop en route to visit the Katta Lemurs, at a wildlife reserve in Anja Park, and to learn about an ancient paper-making technique. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Ambalavao - Ranomafana

After breakfast, discover the deep rainforest of Ranomafana. Relax on arrival, then once night falls, head out for an unforgettable nocturnal nature walk where you’ll see lemurs, birds, amphibians and reptiles. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Ranomafana

Wake up to the sounds of nature and set off to visit the National Park - one of the largest rainforest reserves in the world. Discover amazing birdlife, chameleons, butterflies, lemurs and so much more. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 14: Ranomafana - Antsirabe

Return to Antsirabe this morning. Explore the city by rickshaw and spend the rest of the day soaking up the culture of this country. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 15: Antsirabe - Antananarivo

After breakfast, transfer back to the capital for your flight back to the UK, and spend the night on board.

In short, you pay Secret Escapes a non-refundable deposit to secure your holiday, then you pay the holiday supplier the remaining balance of the holiday - as advertised - at a later date (before you travel).

We've added deposit-only sales to enable our members to get early-bird access to more amazing holidays, and because we know that planning and paying for a holiday can take time.
